A backwoods of fright and horror of Stephen King’s terrifying universe is coming soon. The new HBO series ‘IT: Welcome to Derry’ has released a new trailer, teasing a series of creepy events and the return of the scary clown, Pennywise.
The trailer provides a glimpse of the next wave of horrors that awaits the little haunted town of Derry, just before the Halloween premiere.

The trailer starts with Lilly, a little girl suffering from terrors of the night. Her terror is so obvious that she mutters, “no one is going to believe me.” This phrase is very much related to the events of the first episode, where after a tragic “accident” at the local pickle jar factory, the community blames her.

It seems that fear and distrust are the main elements of Derry, while Lilly is already the centre point of the town’s darkest secrets.
After that, the viewers meet Will, a guy that has an interesting link to the original story. He is the father of Mike Hanlon. At the Derry High School Gym, Will, among a group of children, including Lilly, cautions them about the dark past of the town. His statements acquaint everyone that Derry has always been a place where unutterable horrors can arise.
People familiar with the story will recognise the pictures of the town’s sewers, Pennywise’s weird home, which keeps being the main way in the series. Shots of Derry’s adults looking at the children with a trance-like evil further emphasize the power of evil that is still there in the town.
Moreover, the trailer reveals that there are heated exchanges in Derry. Cops talk about the local theatre owner and conjecture that he might be behind the disappearance of the children. The subplot tells that the town’s prejudice and trying to blame the ones who are different from them will be the themes covered.
Seeing that, Ronnie worries about her dad and he in return assures her courage amidst the growing terror.
Another interesting character is Taniel, and he looks like he is related to the Shokopiwah Native American tribe, which was first hinted at in ‘IT: Chapter Two’. In a highly charged scene, Taniel says, “they did something to him.”
The theme of this becomes the mythos of the series and they have to deal with mysterious artifacts such as the sharp piece of obsidian held by Maggie which has strange glyphs and numbers etched on it. The objects imply that there is ancient magic coupled with the history of Derry and perhaps even that is the origin of Pennywise.
The next scene in the trailer teases a military subplot. Hallorann, a character that the audience can easily recognise from Stephen King’s ‘The Shining’, is the one who goes on a secret mission. Hallorann, with his psychic ability, looks into a gigantic egg-like thing buried deep under Derry. The scenes become louder with children floating, sewers haunted, and strange fog covering the town.
With a heart-stopping revelation, the trailer closes: Pennywise comes in a fiery and dreadful moment that promises terror and chaos. Besides, HBO told fans that the following episode will dropp on Halloween to make it even more thrilling.
Be ready because ‘IT: Welcome to Derry’ is something you can’t avoid and Pennywise is out there waiting for you.
King’s taste runs toward the timeless. He picked several classics that often appear on “best movies ever” lists. 'Casablanca' made it in, as did 'The Treasure of the Sierra Madre'.
